{"id":23,"date":"2009-12-13T20:36:59","date_gmt":"2009-12-14T01:36:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midx.wordpress.com\/?page_id=23"},"modified":"2009-12-13T20:36:59","modified_gmt":"2009-12-14T01:36:59","slug":"equipment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/amdxer.com\/wordpress\/index.php\/equipment\/","title":{"rendered":"Equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My current setup remains mostly unchanged since 2010. \u00a0I continue to use a Microtelecom Perseus SDR with V5 software on a dedicated MSI Wind U100 Atom netbook. \u00a0Now considered horribly outdated, the old Wind still serves its purpose just fine for me, even when recording at 2000 kS\/s. \u00a0I have the Wind modded with firmware that allows me to overclock it when running off the battery (Turbo mode). \u00a0I&#8217;ve also added a larger capacity battery for extended recording times. \u00a0I record to an external WD Elements 1TB USB drive. \u00a0Recording with the old netbook works fine for me with V5, no stuttering at\u00a02000 kS\/s, but playback is a different story. \u00a0I often record with the netbook (low noise when running off the battery) and playback\/analysis on my main desktop rig. \u00a0I&#8217;ve become so fond of the old Wind that I&#8217;ve purchased two more from eBay for very cheap prices just to have as backups. \u00a0I&#8217;ve been using the MSI Wind for seven years now with no hardware issues whatsoever.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_122\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-122\" style=\"width: 364px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-122\" src=\"http:\/\/194.195.86.119\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/dsc_1212-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"364\" height=\"205\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amdxer.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/dsc_1212-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/amdxer.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/dsc_1212-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/amdxer.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/dsc_1212.jpg 1004w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 364px) 100vw, 364px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-122\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ready for DX!
